Pregnancy, post six of eight: last weeks

Last weeks before due date

I went on maternity leave at the beginning of July 2017, seven weeks before our baby was due to be born, as I wanted a lovely run up to her birth.

Kevin encouraged me avidly to do this before our baby arrived. I remember him saying, “when will you get this chance again?” He felt it was really important. Thank you Kev! I remember worrying about what people would think of taking such a long time, but it was the best feeling to have that time to really relax and savour it.

I loved weekly pregnancy yoga. I loved the @noobiesantenatal classes we took to make local friends. I enjoyed pregnancy and the heightened emotions. I had plenty of time to spend with friends and family. I was doing some volunteer dog walking which was great. We had a hilarious baby shower in July with friends. I read a lot (parenting books) and good books generally. I went out for dinners with friends, we went away for weekends, we imagined the future 😄

Late May 2019 weekend in Ramsgate
