Now and next

I loved it when I picked Coraline up from preschool today and they showed me the little velcro “now” and “next” board they have made for her.

As Coraline does not have the receptive language (understanding what is said) to know what’s coming up next, they can velcro on laminated pictures of what’s coming up in terms of what they will be doing each morning! I like the photo of her outdoor suit which they’ve provided for her, so she can still go outside with the others crawling, instead of walking.

Children with Down’s syndrome tend to have a strength in their visual memory so this is brilliant for her. #dsawareness
