Inclusive social life

I’ve joined a group of mums to answer a Monday question. Today’s question is,

“As Coraline's parents, what can you do to help her have the most inclusive social life possible? What would you ask or want to tell other parents?”

I think as her parents we can keep doing what we've always done, and do it with Coraline too! Kevin will answer, "snowboarding" to this. We keep our spirit wide and bright. If our spirit and intention is an inclusive social life, then that's what it will be. It will just be, and there is no forcing about it, as it will come to us.

I know that Coraline has opened my eyes. I think that I might not have known how to approach the parents of a child with special educational needs before. But now it's as clear as day. You simply take a step over and say "hi". We are all connected. Difference is to be celebrated, to be welcomed and enriches us all.

My old lifecoach used to say to me, "know your value". As her parents the best we can do is know our value and let our light shine, and encourage Coraline to know her value and let her light shine. The rest will follow.
