Using the walker

“Who’s replaced our child with one who follows instructions?” was Kevin’s reaction to this when I showed it to him after class yesterday.

Whilst Coraline doesn’t understand language as to what we’d like her to do, we can convey physically. For weeks at Small Steps free weekly group Coraline resisted the walker and parallel bars. Yesterday she was beginning to do them both herself willingly and calmly, and even smiled as she did. I was made up and beyond proud! The power of familiarity and repetition.

And the power of the wonderful care, expertise and love of the Small Steps staff and Coraline’s brilliant Tuesday afternoon group teacher
